Washington applied for pension application on Aug. 28, 1915. Mrs. M.A. Washington w/o John filed pension application Aug. 27, 1919--which is on file at archives. She states that John served company F, 42 MS Inf. The 42 MS had probally the best records of any MS Infantry-yet there is no record that John served in that unit and is not listed in any muster roll of the company.
